Remembrance Day Ceremony

On Sunday, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation held its annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Memorial Mound in the Grove. Approximately 50 community members gathered to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed for peace.
Chief Claire Sault offered words of reflection on behalf of Council and was joined by surviving veterans from the community. County of Brant Mayor David Bailey, Mayor of Brantford, Kevin Davis, Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Bobby Anne Brady were also in attendance to pay their respects.
The ceremony included the laying of wreaths, a moment of silence, MCFN veteran roll call and a tribute to recently passed elder, Garry Sault. The gathering served as a reminder of the courage and resilience of all who have served — and the continued gratitude of the Mississaugas of the Credit community.
