The MISSISSAUGAS OF THE CREDIT FIRST NATION is accepting applications for two full-time, permanent positions of “Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care”

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) who will play a vital role in delivering a safe, inclusive, and culturally enriched learning environment for young children. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to making a meaningful impact within the MCFN community.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Deliver a safe, developmentally appropriate childcare program in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014
  • Plan and implement engaging, inclusive programming that supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Integrate Anishinaabe cultural teachings, language, and land-based learning into daily routines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment with proper supervision of children at all times
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners
  • Document and communicate children’s development through pedagogical tools (e.g., observations, Storypark)
  • Participate in program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support team collaboration, mentor students, and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for candidates who bring:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized institution or equivalent
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Certification with the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (AECEO)
  • Experience working with children ages 0–6 (including student placements)
  • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) framework
  • Strong understanding of child development, inclusive programming, and positive guidance strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment
  • Asset: Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, teachings, and language
  • Asset: Experience with Storypark or similar documentation tools
