Happy International Women’s Day
Posted on March 8, 2026
Today we recognize International Women’s Day and celebrate the strength, leadership, and care that women bring to our families, community, and future.
At Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, women have always held an important role as knowledge carriers, leaders, life-givers, and protectors of our culture and language. Their guidance continues to shape our community in powerful ways.
To mark the day, we invite community members to share a photo using two simple poses that represent the balance of giving and receiving within community:
🤲 Cupped hands — representing care, offering, and support.
🫶 One hand on the heart, one hand extended — representing connection, respect, and the sharing of strength with one another.
Let’s fill our feeds with gratitude, recognition, and love for the women who uplift our community every day. 💙
