Remembrance Day Ceremony

On Sunday, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation held its annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Memorial Mound in the Grove. Approximately 50 community members gathered to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed for peace.
Chief Claire Sault offered words of reflection on behalf of Council, joined by Senior Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Mark LaForme, a veteran of the American Armed Forces, and other community representatives. County of Brant Mayor David Bailey was also in attendance to pay his respects.
The ceremony included the laying of wreaths, a moment of silence, MCFN veteran roll call and a tribute to recently passed elder, Garry Sault. The gathering served as a reminder of the courage and resilience of all who have served — and the continued gratitude of the Mississaugas of the Credit community.
