
Katharine Brown, B.ECL; RECE - Early Years Administrator
Katharine’s career in early childhood education began in 2003 following her graduation from Humber College as an Early Childhood Educator. That same year, she joined the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) team, working as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) at Ekwaamjigenang Children’s Centre. In 2011, she moved to Lloyd S. King Elementary School to team-teach kindergarten. In 2019 she moved on to launch the EarlyON programs as the coordinator.
Since 2022, Katharine has served in her current role as Early Years Administrator. Demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning, she recently obtained an Honours Degree in Early Childhood Leadership and is scheduled to complete a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Western University in Spring 2026.
In her capacity as Administrator, Katharine oversees a wide range of programs, including the EarlyON Child and Family Programs and both licensed child care programs; Ekwaamjigenang Children’s Centre and Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care. She also leads the LSK Kindergarten program and the Kindergarten Afterschool Activities program, which includes Summer and March Break Camps. Furthermore, she oversees the new Food Service Program which launched in 2023.
