“NURSE PRACTITIONER”

Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) is a vibrant, community-focused Nation committed to cultural preservation, lifelong learning, responsible governance, and the overall wellbeing of our members. Our team works collaboratively to strengthen services, honor Anishinaabe teachings, and promote wholistic wellness for current and future generations.
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded Nurse Practitioner to play a vital role in delivering culturally safe, client-centered, and holistic primary health care services to MCFN members across their lifespan. This position is ideal for a health professional who is motivated by meaningful work, values relationship-based care, and is committed to advancing Indigenous health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive primary health care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions
· Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostics, and perform clinical procedures within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice
· Develop individualized, collaborative care plans that integrate physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness
· Apply culturally safe, trauma-informed, and wholistic approaches to care in alignment with Anishinaabe values
· Work collaboratively with families, Elders, community members, and interdisciplinary health partners
· Support health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, and palliative care services
· Contribute to community health initiatives, education programs, and continuous quality improvement
· Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional guidance to health services staff as required
Qualifications & Experience
· BScN required; Master’s in Advanced Nursing Practice preferred
· Registered PHC-NP in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario; NP education completed
· 1–2 years NP experience, or 5 years nursing experience in primary care or community health
· Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, health promotion, and prevention
· Effective communicator with sound judgment; able to work collaboratively in diverse team settings
· Drivers License and a vehicle preferred
· Assets include Indigenous community experience, Trauma-Informed or Cultural Safety training, and knowledge of Anishinaabe culture
