First Nations Resource Development Scholarship

The First Nations Resource Development Scholarship (FNRDS) helps First Nations students in Ontario cover the full cost of education in mining and mining-related programs. Funding includes tuition, fees, textbooks, equipment, and other required program expenses, plus an additional $1,250 (2025–2026) to support costs like transportation, childcare, and housing.
Eligibility:
- Attend a publicly funded college, university, or recognized Indigenous Institute in Ontario
- Be enrolled in an eligible mining or related program
- Be a member of or connected to a First Nations community in Ontario
How to apply:
Apply through your school’s financial aid office. Application details, deadlines, and funding delivery vary by institution. You do not need to apply for OSAP to be considered.
