Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Elects New Ogimaa Kwe and Council
Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) is pleased to announce the official results of the 2025 General Election, held on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Margaret Sault has been elected as the new Ogimaa Kwe (Chief) of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
Sault brings more than four decades of leadership experience to the role. She previously served as Director of Lands, Membership and Research, and later as Acting Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for MCFN. Throughout her career, she has played a central role in major MCFN initiatives, including helping secure the Toronto Purchase Trust settlement. She is an active community member and is recognized for her knowledge of MCFN history, governance, and treaty responsibilities.
“Serving the Membership of MCFN has been the desire of my heart,” Chief-elect Sault said. “I am honoured to have been elected, and I look forward to working as a team to ensure that MCFN is a prosperous Nation.”

The new Chief and Council will be sworn in on December 14 at 9 a.m. at the MCFN Community Centre.
