Flag Raising Ceremony at Fort York Toronto – Friday, June 20th, 2025

Members of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) are invited every year to assist in raising the Mississauga Flag at Fort York.
On Friday June 20, 2025, Cathie Jamieson, Veronica King Jaimeson and Councillor Erma Ferrell attended the ceremony on behalf of the MCFN.
Veronica King Jamieson and Cathie Jamieson smudged the grounds at Fort York before Flag raising ceremony commenced.
Cathie Jamieson provided an opening prayer and song. Veronica King Jaimeson provided the opening introductions and Councillor Erma Ferrell spoke about the positive relationship between the MCFN, and Toronto Museum Services and the staff of Fort York.
Welcoming remarks by Karen Carter/Director of Museum & Heritage Services, Economic Development & Culture for the City of Toronto.
Councillor Erma Ferrell participated in raising the MCFN Flag, with the assistance of Craig King/MCFN Duty of Consultation Department.
