4th Annual KBA Canada Photo Contest – new Indigenous Storytellers category!

The 4th annual KBA Canada Photo Contest is now accepting submissions — and this year, there’s a brand-new Indigenous Storytellers category!

This category creates space for First Nations, Inuit and Métis photographers to share images that express relationships with wildlife, lands, waters and culture, or tell stories about Key Biodiversity Areas grounded in Indigenous knowledge, experience, community or ways of being.

The contest is free to enter, open to photographers of all ages and skill levels, and submissions are open until October 15, 2026. There are also cash prizes available, including a $600 Grand Prize and $250 first-place prize in each category.
