Indigenous Grade 8 Literacy/Numeracy Program

This program provides on reserve Indigenous pupils the opportunity to improve their skills in Literacy and Numeracy. The program will be face to face and is available to current Grade 8 students going into Grade 9 to support the transition to secondary school. Transportation is available.

  • Wednesday, July 7 to Wednesday, July 28, 2021 – 3 weeks – Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Indigenous Grade 11 GPP3O (Leadership and Peer Support) Program

This course prepares students to act in leadership and peer support roles. They will design and implement a plan for contributing to their school and/or community; develop skills in communication, interpersonal relations, teamwork, and conflict management; and apply those skills in leadership and/or peer support roles. Transportation is available.

  • Tuesday, July 6 to Friday, July 30, 2021 – Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Drop-In Support

Daily drop-in support is available Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  at the Community Based Learning Centre (CBLC) 2319 3rd Line Road, Ohsweken to students enrolled in any online and eLearning summer learning programs through GELA. These drop-in supports are available to all Indigenous students via Grand Erie Cultural Mentors and transportation is available by calling at least 24 hours in advanced at:
