Quick Facts: FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) is a brain injury to a baby caused when a mother consumes alcohol during pregnancy. FASD is a lifelong disorder that causes many mild to severe disabilities. FASD is 100% preventable. FASD is more prevalent in vulnerable populations of people i.e.: children in care, Indigenous communities and those who are incarcerated.
