Planned Rabies Control Operations 2017
09/14/2017 @ 12:00 am - 11:30 pm
As part of the on-going Rabies Surveillance Program in the community the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources will be distributing oral rabies vaccine baits by hand. They are scheduled to be in the MNCFN community on SEPTEMBER 14, 2017 and will be working all day until complete.
Any warm-blooded animal can contract rabies however target species for baiting are skunk, fox and raccoons. Please ensure all pets are up-to-date with their rabies immunizations.
MNCFN Community Health program will accept fresh raccoon carcasses to be sent for testing of rabies. If you kill a raccoon that you suspect may have rabies please do not shoot it in the head as the brain has to be intact for testing purposes.
For more information please contact MNCFN Community Health at 905-768-0141.
