

Indigenous Women Leaders Gathering

Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation in partnership with McMaster University, Lake St. Martin First Nation, and De swa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre, are conducting a research project with the goal of expanding the body of knowledge around Indigenous women at risk of/ living with Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke (CVD/S).
As a part of this project, a Gathering of Indigenous Women Leaders is being held on March 2, 2020 at the MCFN Community Centre. At this event a panel of Indigenous Women Leaders will share their stories of achievement and resilience in their life journeys and careers. Following the panel, participants will be engaged in a reflective exercise to share their own stories of resilience and strength-based ways of coping with life/health challenges.
MCFN is inviting community participation through nomination of Indigenous community members for the following 2 areas:
- To participate on the panel as an Indigenous Woman Leader. Nominees from MCFN will be considered amongst those from the other project partners and beyond and,
- To attend as a MCFN Indigenous female community member as a participant,
*all participants must be 12 years or older*
